After almost two years on youtube, Sudanese rapper Bangs video gets public interest, his video 'Take you to the movies' has gained almost 6 million views, 4 of which have been in the last few months. Sadly for rap fans his song is more Rebecca Black than Jay Z. See his video below to find out just why this song has gained so much attention

Asher Roth and Nottz
Asher Roth has teamed up with Norfolk, Virginia’s Nottz, to produce an 8 track mixtape 'The Rawth EP' it includes noticeable collaborations with D.A. of Chester French in “Gotta Get Up,” Rhymefest on “Coming and Going,” and Kardinal Offishall in “Runit Back'' to name a few. The pair bring an upbeat EP that could easily have been sold commercially, but as it is free..legally, why haven't you already downloaded it? Link on the bottom of the page.
Highlight for me was 'Your neighbour' check out the video below and as always rate, review and comment:
Even though many in the hip hop community brush aside Asher Roth's credibility as a rapper, he holds his own in all the free-styling sessions he has done, lyrically he beats some of the 'real' rappers as when he freestyles it really is off the top of his head, anyone see Kanye or Drakes...FAIL! But can a white guy from the suburbs really be taken seriously in the hip hop community? Why not he never claims to be anything his not, his content is about things he has been through and not faux glamourising of guns or 'hoes'. Check out his freestyle with Hot 97:

The Female Takeover: Who did you rate?
The first time I heard this track I thought...where's Shystie? Then I thought...where's Miss Dynamiteteheeee? And then, hold up where is No Lay? But on second hearing I listen to the lyrical content and all the women involved brought their A game, the question is will any of them cross into the mainstream charts?
Three months on from its first airing the video is still getting a lot of hits, still haven't seen it? Where have you been? Check it out below:
Ruff Diamondz, Adot, Envy, CherriV, BabyBlue, RoxXxan, Lioness, Mz Bratt & Lady Leshurr all feature on the track, you could pick from any of them to look out for but based on this Lady Leshurr kills the track, as Mz Bratt said, like an awkward note. Rapper, singer, songwritter and actress this girl is a quadruple threat and is probably the bookies favourite to blow up soon. Unaware of her credentials, check out her freestyles and SBTV video below, if you don't know...get to know:

K'Naan more than just a world cup song
I have been listening to and loving K'Naan over the last 3 years but as this Somalian/Canadian rapper continues to build his mainstream awareness I am becoming a little bit concerned with people thinking of him as 'the world cup guy'. His beautiful Wavin Flag was the official world cup song last year and due to the world cups popularity K'Naan collaborated with a number of musical artists from a variety of backgrounds and nations. As the song was for the world cup his powerful lyrics were diminished to 'wave your flag' add that to Will i am's remix and you have a watered down classic!
For those yet to hear the original here it is below, really LISTEN to the lyrics! Remeber K'Naan moved to Canada from wartorn Somalia at the age of 14, this is his ode to his people and their struggle...not the kind of music Will i am understands nor should he ever go near!

Goldielocks has been making the kind of music that either makes you nod your head or think but is yet to hit the mainstream charts in a big way. Why? Who knows! Anuvahood and Anuva Argument
Anuvahood
Adam Deacon steps into the role of writer, director and actor in his début directorial Anuvahood. Angled as Britain's first 'urban comedy' parodying films like Kidulthood, Adulthood and Shanked (which all star Deacon)
The comparisons to Kidulthood are way of the mark, think more Ali G in the house, which also stared Deacon, than gritty urban drama and you've nailed this film. Anuvahood is a light-hearted comedy aimed at the younger market, so if you get the lingo and humour it will have you in stitches, but if your a 40 year old from the suburbs avoid this film like the plague.
The film also stars Michael Vu, Deacons childhood friend who co wrote the film. Other noticeable roles and cameos come from comedian Richard Blackwood, Big Brother star Aisleyne Horgan-Wallace; Youtube sensation Jazzie Zonzolo; Skins star Ollie Barbieri and former So Solid member Ashley Walters to name a few. All putting in good performances, although a lot of critics have panned the film, fans have flocked to the cinema to see it giving it an impressive £536,000 taking at the box office in it's opening weekend, whilst only being shown in 149 screens.
Prior to the films release there were comparisons with Kidult/adulthood, this had ignited a feud between Deacon and Noel Clarke, writer and director of both 'hood' movies. Clarke issued a full rant on his blog feeling Deacon had shunned him when he had helped him get to where he is, including staring roles in three of his films as well as a lead role in would be TV series West 10 LDN.
The debate continued with fans, co-stars and sh*t stirrers putting their opinions in, Deacon confirmed he believed that Clarke was in fact 'Freemasonman' with; "for those asking if i think @freemason is noel clarke, i really do you know lol" I followed their tweets and it appeared they were looking to meet up and discuss the matter which I hope will resolve their issues.
Deacon's fans will say Clarke has gotten too big headed, why can't Deacon move on into another field, the same as Clarke had done before him. Anuvahood isn't similar to any of Clarke's films apart from being set in an urban environment.
Clarke's fans will argue that Deacon used his fame from Clarke's 'hood' movies and is looking to exploit film goers who will assume as the film has 'hood' in its title and stars Deacon (a long time actor in Clarke's films) that Clarke must be involve behind the scenes. (It appears Clarke believes this too as he retweeted a fan asking:
What do you think? Have you seen the film? Leave your opinions, comments and rating below!

You'll leave the cinema wanting some Fruitella "cos it's a badman sweet" and those of you old enough to remember Richard Blackwood's '1,2,3,4, get with the wicked' song the first time around, will be humming it all day.
As it's popularity growns it might be coming to a cinema near you, check www.anuvahood.com for full listings

Anuva Argument
"I want them all to succeed, get out of their area if they want and do big things, and I was gonna help them do that. but why steal my s**t to do it? Is that right?I sat on my arse when I was broke as a joke and made up the whole HOOD thing, now it’s getting used without me to make cash, and exploit people who won’t know it’s not me doing it. don’t tar me with that brush. It’s simple you do someone else’s thing WITH them, it’s a collaboration. You do someone else’s thing WITHOUT them. It’s called stealing, or as the lawyers have been calling it… Copyright infringement. (look it up)
Even with the hostilities between the two Deacon thanked Noel Clarke at his films premier. For those thinking that was the last we'd hear about it, the feud continued on twitter recently with Deacon and several of his fans accusing Clarke of being '@freemasonman' an unknown individual sending several ranting tweets about Deacon and his film, sometimes abusive and sometimes laughable. When Noel was notified of this on twitter (yes I did ask) he immediately denied it saying:
""Okay I do/have done some stupid things. But even if i had time make fake accounts. i wouldn't waste my day with people i fell out with. i would try check a girl or somethin LOL. Can't lie, fallen out with a person i was tight with. but we have spoken. this prick is not me"

RT pedsays @NoelClarke did you get some moneyyy from AnuvaHood as the concept was kinda the same a Kidulthood and AdultHood with a comedic twist?Whether your a fan of Clarke or Deacon only the box office numbers are what the makers of the film care about and this tit for tat twitter exchange does nothing more then keep Anuvahood in peoples twitter feed so maybe Deacon will have the last laugh on this one. See the trailer for Kidulthood and Adulthood below, both available on DVD now. See any similarities with Anuvahood? Apart from all staring Adam Deacon, I don't see any.

Haven't seen the Kozzie's new Spartan's remix yet? Check it out below and let me know your thoughts. Kozzie has teamed up with Marger, Merky Ace, Rival, Ego and Scrufizzer.
Normally on a rap collaboration the first thing people look at is who's verse is the best...or more like who flopped. But all 6 hold there own to create a hard remix to the original, out 28th March. I will be getting my copy, the summers coming and this is real gym/hype music. ''Cant keep, Cant keep lyin like that...''

From new artists to someone who has been in the game for a long time! Shystie is back with her new track Headbanger and it is one! Check out it's first play on Mistajam below and let me know what you think:
Probably one of the most underrated MC's on the scene, this year has to be the year she hits the mainstream charts. And for those still questioning her talent, see this freestyle she did for Tim Westwood last year...she could battle the biggest MC's British or Stateside and win!

Skepta All Over The House Video Controversy
Wow, the Skepta video for his new track ‘All Over The House’ is setting the internet alight! Twitter and facebook are blowing up with people asking about it, reviewing it, angry at it, loving it, hating it…
So I HAD to check it out, and my goodness I see why it has caught like fire! It is not like a porno, it IS A PORNO! Anyone seen it? What do you think, was this deliberately just to provoke a reaction and get everyone talking about him…his album has just come out? Or is this a video that, well LITERALLY plays out the lyrics of his song?
Harmless or too far? I’m still in shock, I expected a music video instead I got a condensed porn flick!
Haven’t seen it? Should I put up the link? 50/50 on that one, but let me know…I’ll see if there is a way to post it for over 18s only. But for now check out the review on the video below, this guy had me cracking up with laughter!!
Tyler The Creator
I have been playing Yonkers for ages and finally saw the video, I think I like Tyler the Creator a little bit more than before. He really stands out in the world of rap right now, everything from his image to his video, unique. As they'd say on the Jersey Shore...Fresh to Death!

Nate Dogg v Rebecca Black
It's sad to see Nate Dogg recieved his largest amount of social media coverage because of his death and 'artists' like Rebecca Black are talked about none stop. Granted people are discussing Rebecca Black because of how bad her song is, but in just under a week she has had almost 20 million youtube views, she hasn't left the twitter trending list (worldwide may I add) nor have people got tired of sharing her link on facebook.
Why is it that we don't share talented musicians work with such enthusiasm? As much as people may dislike Rebecca Black and Friday, she might be the one having the last laugh, international coverage for whatever reason is priceless add that to the money she'll receive from ads on her video and the interest in her, erm...follow up single and upcoming summer tour, yes you read that right, she's going on tour!
Compare that to Nate Dogg, talented singer songwriter and the go to man for hooks, but never made it more than as a feature artist. Sad but true! Although Regulator with Warren G is one of the tunes he is best known for, for me Oh No with Mos Def and Pharaoh is the song that comes to mind when I think of Nate Dogg
And for those STILL not having the pleasure in seeing Rebecca Black's delighful tune Friday, here it is;

My first time in Texas! Flew in from London and got straight to work! I have seen some incredible start ups with mad crazy ideas…full review soon! Unfortunately I wasn't able to stay and see most of the music acts this year, such an amazing mix of music, people, film...we need this kind of a festival in the UK!
